D.C. Police are conducting an intense search for two 9-year-old girls who have been missing since they were last seen outside their elementary school Wednesday afternoon.

Brittany Bennett and Deasia Wooten have been declared critical missing persons. They disappeared from Rudolph Elementary School in Northwest Washington.

An Amber Alert has not been declared, as can sometimes be used in emergency cases of suspected child abductions. The father of one of the girls told WRC-TV that he considered his daughter a runaway.

Bennett is 4 feet 5 inches tall, 75 pounds and was last wearing a white jacket, white blouse and blue pants.

Wooten is described as 4 feet 7 inches, 80 pounds, and was wearing a white shirt, blue jumper and black Reebok tennis shoes. Both girls are black.

Anyone with information about the missing girls is asked to call police at 202-727-9099.
