Country Singer Faces Judge on Probation Violation Charge
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – A Williamson County judge will decide if country singer Mindy McCready violated her probation on an old drug charge and have to serve jail time.
The singer is accused of violating probation by getting charged in a domestic dispute in Ft. Myers , Fla. , in July.
She received a suspended sentence in 2004 for obtaining painkillers with a false prescription.
The Florida police officer who responded to the incident testified Friday morning that
McCready was belligerent, resisting arrest and apparently intoxicated after allegedly attacking her mother, leaving visible scratches.
