A summer camp counselor accused of exchanging sexually explicit messages with a 16-year-old girl has been arrested.

Twenty-two-year-old Kevyn Ashley of Tucson is now facing a charge of commercial sex exploitation of a minor.

Pima County Jail records show Ashley is being held on $7,500 bond.

According to a search warrant affidavit filed in Pima County Superior Court Friday, the girl, who is cognitively delayed and mildly autistic, began going to a summer arts program on May 23.

An affidavit says the teen began sending and receiving hundreds of text messages with Ashley, who also is described as being cognitively delayed.

The affidavit says that on Aug. 11, the girl's mother saw a sexually explicit photo of Ashley on the girl's cell phone, along with explicit text messages. On Aug. 27, the girl was interviewed and confirmed that the messages were from Ashley.
