The 18-year-old son of celebrity wrestler Hulk Hogan has been released from jail in Florida after serving five months for causing a serious traffic crash and his sister, singer and reality star Brooke Hogan, says she “can’t wait to see her Nicky.”

Nick Bollea was released from the Pinellas County Jail on Tuesday morning. He pleaded no contest in May to causing the crash, leaving a friend and former Marine permanently disabled.

Bollea was arrested last year after authorities say he sped on a busy street and crashed the car, owned by his father. Bollea could have faced five years in prison, but the victim's family requested a lesser sentence.

Bollea's mother, Linda, released a statement Tuesday asking for privacy. She says Nick went into prison as a juvenile and has experienced something that will mold and affect him for the rest of his adult life.

According to Us Weekly, Brooke Hogan said that she and her brother are “like best friends … and I can’t believe how long I’ve gone without him.”

The “Brooke Knows Best" star also thanked fans for support on her MySpace blog and criticized "haters" for saying hurtful things, Us said.

“Not seeing him for six months has been really, really hard,” she wrote. "He always knows how to make me feel better or make me smile when I need it, and it's been tough without having him there to hug me just at the right time, or crack a joke when I'm havin' a bad day."

She told her fans she planned to make Nick macaroni and cheese to celebrate his release.
