A six-month-old Indianapolis girl critically injured when her stroller was struck by a car whose driver fled the scene has died from her injuries.

The parents of Adrianne Marlette say in a statement released by Riley Hospital for Children that their daughter died Saturday night at the Indianapolis hospital.

Nicole Wade and Adam Marlette say they're devastated by their child's death. They say she was "an amazing little girl, and a fighter."

An 18-year-old man was pushing a stroller carrying the child early Friday on the city's far east side when a car struck them from behind. Adrianne suffered multiple skull fractures but the man was only slightly injured.

Police are still searching for the driver, who fled the scene.
