A tour bus crashed on an interstate exit ramp in northeast Pennsylvania early Friday, causing several injuries, state police said.

The one-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 happened just after 4 a.m. in New Milford Township, Susquehanna County, which is about 30 miles north of Scranton, state police dispatcher Richard Tingley said.

Police were on the scene and the injured were being brought to hospitals, he said. Television station WNEP-TV, citing troopers at the scene, reported that six people were injured, including one who was thrown from the bus.

Tingle did not immediately have information on the on the bus line or destination.
