Pittsburgh homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man whose animal-ravaged corpse was found in a dilapidated house.

Police Cmdr. Thomas Stangrecki says the body was found late Tuesday and that it appeared animals "may have gnawed away at the man's body after he died."

Stangrecki says it appears some homeless people were living in the home and others nearby. Police say the rundown house where the body was found may have once been owned by the dead sister of one of the homeless people using the house.

Police say there are no indications of foul play, but an autopsy is planned. The man's identity has not been released.
