6.3-Magnitude Quake Shakes Islands Off Japan

A moderate 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck Japan's Bonin Islands in the Pacific, Japanese officials said on Saturday.

The shallow quake struck around 30 miles south of Chichijima, or about 630 southeast of Tokyo, according to the Japanese Meteorological Agency.

There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries, and officials do not expect the quake to generate a tsunami, the agency reported.
