Three bystanders were shot and a suspect was killed after gunmen opened fire at a crowded cultural celebration in Carson, California, Wednesday evening.
Authorities said gunfire that broke out at an annual Samoan Flag Day celebration was gang-related. One of the suspects was shot by a private security guard hired by the festival, and pronounced dead at the scene.
"One of the suspect shooters fired several rounds into a crowd of people, and three individuals were wounded," Deputy Rick Pedroza told MyFOXLA.com.
The grounds were placed on immediate lockdown, Pedroza said. The number of suspects was not known, MyFOXLA.com reported, but at least one more was spotted running from the park by witnesses.
The sheriff’s department said the shooting victims, a man, a woman and a young boy, were treated by paramedics at the scene.
