2 Dead After Plane Crashes in Oklahoma

Authorities say two people are dead after the crash of a small plane near the Bristow airport.

Officials have not yet released the names of those killed in the crash about 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lt. Vern Wilson said a witness reported that the plane was apparently trying to land at the airport. According to Wilson, the witness said the pilot appeared to abort the landing, banked left and struck overhead power lines before crashing just west of the airport.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford said the type of plane and its destination aren't known. Wilson said the plane was a four-seater.

Bristow is about 30 miles southwest of Tulsa.
