1 Dead After Car Plunges More Than 40 Feet From Parking Deck

COLUMBIA, S.C. – A car plunged more than 40 feet from an elevated Post Office parking lot Wednesday, killing the driver, officials said.

Richland County Emergency Medical Services spokesman George Rice said the car landed on its roof after the fall near the city's main Post Office. It was not immediately clear how the accident occurred.

Police and the coroner's office were investigating.
