NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia is scheduled to undergo surgery on Friday to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee, the team said on Wednesday.
The surgery and following therapy should not affect Sabathia's preparations for spring training, the Yankees said on their website (http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com).
Sabathia had a 21-7 record during the regular season, but gave up a surprising 10 earned runs and 22 hits in 16 innings in the playoffs.
