Yanga-Mbiwa makes permanent Roma switch

Rome, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - AS Roma confirmed Tuesday that the club has completed a permanent move for defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.

Yanga-Mbiwa had been on loan with the Serie A outfit from Newcastle United, but the Roman club has opted to make the deal permanent for a fee of approximately $8 million.

The 25-year-old France international made 11 Premier League starts for the Magpies last season but has since failed to establish himself as a first-team regular, triggering a loan move to Roma before the start of the campaign.
