Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Myles Davis posted 18 points as Xavier routed No. 19 Butler, 73-56, on Saturday.

Trevon Bluiett added 11 points while Jalen Reynolds contributed nine points and 11 rebounds for the Musketeers (18-10, 8-7 A-10), winners in four of their last five games.

Roosevelt Jones scored 14 points and Alex Barlow poured in 10 with five rebounds and two steals for the Bulldogs (19-8, 9-5), who have lost two of three since taking five in a row.

Xavier never trailed in the contest, racing out to a 12-4 edge 6 1/2 minutes in thanks to six points from Davis. Barlow's layup pulled Butler within 14-13 with 8:15 left in the first half, but it was all Musketeers from there.

The hosts led 33-20 at the break, and a Matt Stainbrook bucket just over two minutes into the second half provided a 41-24 advantage.

Reynolds split two from the line and the Xavier lead reached 20 for the first time, 48-28 as less than five minutes elapsed.

JP Macura's triple inside of six minutes remaining boosted the Musketeers' lead to the largest in the game at 71-42.

Xavier claimed a 36-28 edge in the paint and 11-4 edge in fast-break points but held a slim 39-35 advantage on the boards ... Butler was doomed by 24.1 percent shooting (7-for-29) in the first half.
