New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Red Bull New York forward Bradley Wright-Phillips was named the Player of the Week on Monday for Week 28 of the 2014 Major League Soccer season.
Wright-Phillips bagged his third hat trick of the season on Saturday, helping the Red Bulls claim an important 4-1 win over Seattle Sounders FC to grab a foothold in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
The England native got the scoring started early when he powered a shot past Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei in the first minute of the game and he doubled his tally from the penalty spot in the 54th minute.
Wright-Phillips then completed his treble two minutes later to give his side a commanding 3-0 lead.
