Following a comeback attempt at the Sony Open in Key Biscayne last week, Canada's Aleksandra Wozniak has been forced back to the sidelines.

After feeling pain in her shoulder while in Miami, doctors recommended she take an additional three-month recovery period.

"It's extremely disappointing and as difficult a decision as it is for me, there are no other options," said Wozniak. "I felt ready to come back and I even took more time than needed as a precautionary measure to make sure my shoulder was fully healed, but now, I'm back to square one."

After injuring her right shoulder in Quebec City in September last year, the 25-year-old Wozniak was away from competition until her return last week in Miami. She hopes to return to action in July.

The nine-year-pro former world No. 21 Wozniak is a two-time WTA titlist, with both wins coming back in 2008.
