San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski was named the Major League Soccer Player of the Month for October after he scored five goals in the month to finish tied atop the league in goals with D.C. United's Dwayne De Rosario.

Wondolowski scored in three of San Jose's final four games to finish the season with 16 goals and three assists, including a goal in the team's 4-2 win over FC Dallas to close out the regular season.

The 28-year-old started 30 games for the Earthquakes this season and has been named the MLS Player of the Month for the second time after winning the award in October 2010.
