Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - In a swap of veteran point guards during Thursday's trade deadline, the Washington Wizards acquired Ramon Sessions from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Andre Miller.
The move reunites Miller with new Kings sideline boss George Karl, who coached the 38-year-old over parts of four seasons during his previous tenure with the Denver Nuggets.
Sessions, who is signed through next season, joins a Washington team that's currently in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race and gives the Wizards a younger backup to All-Star John Wall.
The 28-year-old has averaged 11.3 points and 4.5 assists over an eight-year NBA tenure in which he's played for six different teams, though Sessions was producing career-low numbers of 5.4 points, 2.7 assists and 17.8 minutes with the Kings this season.
In his 16th NBA campaign, Miller averaged 3.6 points and 2.8 assists over 51 games with the Wizards, who had acquired the experienced guard from the Nuggets during last year's trade deadline.
