Washington, DC – After eight games, the Wizards finally put a win together and ended the worst start in franchise history.
Washington took control in the second quarter and didn't look back, earning a 93-78 victory against the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday.
Nick Young and Rashard Lewis scored 15 points apiece for the Wizards, whose 0-8 start to the season included losses of every kind. They lost by 21 points to Milwaukee on December 30, were swept in a home-and-home by Boston, got routed in Orlando, and dropped a 99-96 decision against the Knicks last week after Carmelo Anthony hit a late three-pointer.
But the Wizards earned their first win of the season by outscoring Toronto 29-14 during the second quarter. The Raptors, coming off Monday's win against Minnesota, never got back in the game.
