St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Minnesota Wild placed defenseman Keith Ballard and forward Ryan Carter on injured reserve Monday, both with upper- body injuries.
The Wild also recalled forward Brett Sutter from Iowa of the American Hockey League.
Ballard has already missed two games with a concussion and facial fractures after being hit into the boards by New York Islanders forward Matt Martin on Dec. 9. He has one assist in 14 games this season.
Carter didn't play in Saturday's shootout win at Arizona. He has two goals and eight assists in 26 games this season.
