Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago White Sox have placed center fielder Adam Eaton on the 15-day disabled list due to a strained right oblique he sustained during Friday's game against the Seattle Mariners.
Eaton was forced to exit Chicago's 4-1 loss after just one at-bat. He was replaced in the field by Leury Garcia in the bottom of the first inning.
The speedy leadoff hitter had been on fire prior to the injury, batting a torrid .434 (33-for-76) in 20 games since the All-Star break. The surge has raised Eaton's average to .304 for the season.
Chicago recalled outfielder Jordan Danks from Triple-A Charlotte to fill the available roster spot.
Danks, the younger brother of White Sox hurler John Danks, went just 4-for-41 during a 21-game stint in the majors earlier this season. The 28-year-old was hitting .276 with 16 home runs and 56 RBI in 88 games with Charlotte.
