Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago White Sox activated starting pitcher Chris Sale from the 15-day disabled list prior to Sunday's home game against the Minnesota Twins.

Sale will make his season debut after recovering from a broken foot. He suffered an avulsion fracture on the lateral side of his right foot in an accident at home in late February.

The left-hander finished third in voting for the American League Cy Young Award in 2014 after going 12-4 with a 2.17 ERA and 208 strikeouts in 26 starts.

Infielder Carlos Sanchez was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte following Saturday's win to make room for Sale on the roster.
