The Chicago White Sox placed first baseman Paul Konerko on the seven-day disabled list with a concussion.

He suffered the concussion in the seventh inning of Tuesday's game against Kansas City when he was struck in the head by the elbow of Jarrod Dyson while covering first base.

Konerko is batting .316 with 18 homers and 54 RBI over 101 games this season.

Chicago will make a corresponding roster move prior to Saturday's game against the Athletics.
