Bryce White had 19 points and five assists as Portland State knocked off Division III Willamette 84-63 on Tuesday night.

Willamette stayed close early, trailing only 17-13 midway in the first half, but then the Vikings found the range, going on a 23-4 run for a 40-17 lead with 3:38 remaining before the break. They led 48-27 at the half.

Brendon McCullough (15 points) hit a 3-point jumper, closing to 54-37 with 16:03 remaining. That was as close as the Bearcats got as Portland State led 72-46 with 9:32 remaining.

Tim Douglas, who hit all 3 of his 3-point attempts, had 15 points and Braxton Tucker added 12 and grabbed 10 rebounds for Portland State (2-0). The Vikings were 31 of 57 from the field while limiting Willamette to 22 of 56 attempts.

Alex Brown led the Bearcats with 20 points, nailing 3 of 4 from beyond the arc.
