Watt misses practice with broken hand, will play against Patriots

Houston Texans star defensive end J.J Watt, who was spotted wearing a cast Thursday after sitting out practice, told reporters he suffered a broken left hand during Wednesday's practice.

Watt said he expects to play Sunday against the the New England Patriots, with Texans head coach Bill O'Brien adding that he doesn't believe the injury will affect Watt's play.

Per ESPN's Tania Ganguli, Watt noted the current injury is less painful than some of the other ailments he's played through this season.

When asked if he was worried about opposing teams attempting to go after his injury, Watt, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, said he was unconcerned.

"Let 'em try," Watt said, per the Houston Chronicle. "Come at it. I'll take advantage of whatever you try to do."

Watt leads the NFL with 13.5 sacks. He's yet to miss a start in his five-year NFL career.
