Sacramento, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Klay Thompson was a lot quieter in the third quarter against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday.

Except the Golden State Warriors didn't need his heroics this time.

Stephen Curry had 23 points, nine assists, five rebounds and three steals as the Golden State Warriors routed the Sacramento Kings 121-96 on Tuesday night.

The sharp-shooting guard Thompson set an NBA record for points in a quarter on Jan. 23, netting 37 of Golden State's 41 in the third en route to a 126-101 Warriors win over the Kings. Thompson, who finished with 52 points after departing at the 9:28 mark of the fourth, made all 13 of his shots in the third, with nine of them coming from beyond the arc.

Thompson finished with just 14 points on Tuesday, half of that total coming in the third.

Marreese Speights posted 17 points and eight boards off the bench, while Andre Iguodala added 17 points for the Warriors, who have won seven of their last nine games.

"I love the box score. I love having a lot of different guys scoring," Golden State coach Steve Kerr said.

DeMarcus Cousins tallied 26 points and 11 rebounds for Sacramento, which has lost nine of its last 10 games.

"They pushed the game ahead and made it tough for our whole team," Cousins said.

Ben McLemore sandwiched 3-pointers around an Andrew Bogut layup to stake Sacramento to a 20-10 advantage midway through the opening frame, but the Warriors responded with an extended 27-2 run that bled into the second.

Speights made two foul shots at the end of the quarter to give the Warriors a 29-22 cushion. Curry netted nine points during the surge, which was capped on consecutive Iguodala dunks for a 37-22 Golden State margin at the 9:59 mark of the second.

The Warriors extended their spread to 63-42 heading into the break and led 94-80 after three when Curry knocked down a triple in the waning seconds.

Golden State cruised to the easy win in the fourth.
