Sam Walker birdied the third playoff hole Sunday to defeat Simon Wakefield and win the Scottish Hydro Challenge.

Walker and Wakefield ended three rounds tied 12-under-par 201. There was a lengthy delay on Sunday due to heavy rain and the round was eventually canceled.

The duo played the 18th in the extra session to determine a winner. The first time through, Wakefield missed an 18-foot birdie effort to open the door for Walker. However, Walker's 7-foot birdie putt stayed above ground.

Both players had about 15 feet for birdie on the second extra hole. Wakefield missed and Walker also missed to force a third playoff hole.

Wakefield couldn't find the green with his approach the third time through. Walker dropped his second shot within eight feet. After Wakefield failed to hole his chip shot, Walker sank his birdie putt for the victory.

The win was Walker's third on the European Challenge Tour.

Magnus A. Carlsson took third place at 11-under-par 202. Daniel Brooks, John Parry and Chris Doak shared fourth at minus-10.
