The Minnesota Vikings have signed free-agent cornerback Josh Thomas.

The team announced the move Friday afternoon.

Thomas played with four different teams last year. He spent training camp with the Carolina Panthers, then saw regular-season action with the Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets and Detroit Lions. He played in five total games in 2014, recording two tackles and two passes defensed.

Originally a fifth-round draft pick of the Cowboys in 2011, Thomas, a native of Cedar Hill, Texas, spent training camp with Dallas before being claimed off waivers by the Panthers. He was with Carolina for three years, including his best season in 2013 when the University of Buffalo product played 13 games (six starts) on a unit that ranked second in the league in total defense.

Thomas, 26, is 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds.
