Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Camilo Sanvezzo was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Month on Thursday for the month of July.

Camilo continued his scoring streak with four goals, helping the Whitecaps, who occupy the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, to a 2-2-1 record in July. He is ranked first in the MLS scoring chart with 13 goals in 20 games.

The Brazilian began the month with a sensational game-tying free kick in the dying seconds of the first half against Sporting Kansas City on July 3.

On July 14, Camilo netted a brace in the club's 3-1 victory over the Chicago Fire, helping the striker secure Player of the Week honors.

Camilo capped his fine month by competing in the MLS All-Star game on Wednesday, assisting on the All-Star's lone goal in a 3-1 loss to AS Roma.

The award is selected each month of the regular season by journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters.
