UCLA forward James Keefe will have surgery on his left shoulder next week, marking the end of the senior's college career.

The school said Thursday it's the same shoulder that Keefe had surgery on in August 2007 to repair a torn labrum. He missed the first 12 games of the 2007-08 season while recovering.

Keefe averaged 2.2 points and 2.8 rebounds while starting 13 of the 20 games he played this season.

He first injured his left shoulder during the opening week of practice this season.

After playing the first nine games, he dislocated his shoulder against New Mexico State on Dec. 15. Keefe missed the next three games, but returned to play against Arizona State on Dec. 31. He reinjured his shoulder in practice last week.

Coach Ben Howland says he's disappointed Keefe has had so many issues with his shoulder this year, but that he's handled it well.
