WHAT'S AT STAKE

UCLA is back in the poll after a one-week hiatus and looking to close ground on idle Arizona State in the Pac-12 South standings. The Bruins have won their first two road games of the season under new coach Jim Mora for the first time since 2005 when they won three straight on the road and finished 10-2. Cal needs to win five of its final seven games just to be eligible for a bowl. That won't be an easy task as the Golden Bears have five games left against teams currently ranked in the top 25.

KEY MATCHUP

Cal defense vs. UCLA QB Brett Hundley. The Bears have struggled against quarterbacks running the spread offense this season and Hundley has done it extremely well so far. He is completing 66.1 percent of his passes for 296 ypg with 11 TDs and only three INTs. He is also capable running the ball with four TDs on the ground.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

UCLA: RB Johnathan Franklin. Franklin ranks fourth in the nation in rushing with 139.4 ypg, and is first among rushers from a team from one of the six major conferences. Franklin has 200 yards on 37 carries with three TDs in three previous meetings against Cal.

California: WR Keenan Allen. Despite an inconsistent passing game, Allen remains one of the most dangerous receivers in the country while often facing double or triple coverage. Allen has 33 catches for 388 yards and two TDs so far and ranks in the top 10 in school history in career catches and yardage.
