Tronti returns to action, scores a TD in both overtimes in Brown's 33-30 win over Stony Brook

Zachary Tronti scored on a 1-yard run in the second overtime and Brown won its season opener 33-30 over Stony Brook on Saturday.

Tronti, who also scored on a 4-yard run in the first overtime, played for the first time since a season-ending knee injury on Nov. 7. Tronti finished with 77 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries.

The Seawolves (1-2) tied the game in the first overtime and started with the ball in the second. After Miguel Maysonet ran for 7 yards, he was tackled for a loss of 2 and Stony Brook quarterback Michael Coulter threw an incomplete pass as the Seawolves settled for a field goal.

Brown's 2009 All-Ivy League quarterback Kyle Newhall Caballero didn't play after injuring his hand last season. Joe Springer stepped in as the Bears' starter, throwing 23 of 43 passes for 250 yards a touchdown and three interceptions.
