Toronto FC signed 17-year-old academy goalie Quillan Roberts on Tuesday.

Roberts represented Canada at the 2011 FIFA Under-17 World Cup, playing two matches. He becomes the seventh TFC academy player to sign with the club.

"Quillan is a young goalkeeper that posses strong qualities that we like. This signing is continuing our vision of youth development and academy players transitioning into the senior side," Toronto FC coach and technical director Aron Winter said.

"We are convinced he can continue to develop now with the first team."
