Christian LeMay, one of the top quarterback prospects in the country heading into his senior year, made Georgia his college choice Friday.
LeMay, from Butler High of Matthews, N.C., chose Georgia among a final three that also included Clemson and Texas A&M, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Scout.com ranks LeMay as the No. 2 quarterback in the country among seniors-to-be.
"It just pretty much fit everything I want to do and hopefully they'll help propel me to the next level," LeMay said at a news conference held at his father's church in Pineville, N.C., according to the Journal-Constitution . "They said they want me to come and compete, and that's what I'm going to do."
LeMay, 6 feet 3, 200 pounds, led Butler to the North Carolina 4A championship with an undefeated season in 2009. He completed 68.5 percent of his passes, throwing for 44 touchdowns and two interceptions.
LeMay did stop short of calling his announcement a verbal commitment.
"It's the school I plan to enroll in unless something drastic happens," LeMay said. "Unless Coach Richt or Coach Bobo is gone or something crazy like that, I'm a Georgia Bulldog."
