Tom Brady on playing 10 more years: 'What else am I going to do?'

Every NFL team, aside from the New England Patriots, got a bit of bad news last week when Tom Brady said he plans to play for 10 more years. And with the way he's been playing this season, it's not completely unreasonable to think he could.

On Monday, after shredding an outstanding New York Jets defense Sunday, Brady clarified his thoughts on playing for another decade, though he didn't seem to waver on the idea.

"I hope so. There's a lot of things that can happen in football," Brady said via Mike Reiss of ESPN. "What else am I going to do?"

There are plenty of things Brady can do, but none will provide him with the happiness that winning in the NFL gives him. Of course, expecting Brady to play until he's 48 years old is somewhat of a stretch, but it's incredible to see that he's playing at such a high level this late in his career. He's thrown 16 touchdowns to one pick in six games, and is third in the league with a 113.2 passer rating.

He's a true MVP candidate at the age of 38, and he has the Patriots looking like Super Bowl contenders once again. And it's safe to say Brady still remains just as excited to play football as he did in his 20's.

"There's nothing like playing football," Brady said. "It's a big challenge and a big commitment to make. I think that's something I'm excited about. There's nothing I love to do [more] than running out and playing football. Just because someone says, 'You should stop playing at this age, or this age, because that's what people have done before you,' I don't really buy that."
