Lyon, France (SportsNetwork.com) - Corentin Tolisso's second-half strike held up as the winner on Friday as Lyon came away with a 2-1 victory over Monaco at the Stade de Gerland.
Coming off a 2-1 loss to newly-promoted Metz in league play last time out, Lyon was surely looking to get off on the right foot in front of the home fans and did just that on the half hour mark through an opening goal from Nabil Fekir.
But the principality club battled back for an equalizer just nine minutes later through Lucas Ariel Ocampos.
The match looked to be headed for a draw, but Tolisso netted the winner with 17 minutes to play to hand Lyon an important three points and lift the club to six points from their opening five matches.
Monaco, meanwhile, continues to struggle with early-season form as the defeat leaves the club with just one win from its first five games.
