Tennessee Titans returner Marc Mariani suffered a broken left leg during the first quarter of Thursday's preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Mariani was injured while being tackled during a punt return and replays showed his left leg severely bent at an awkward angle near the calf. He remained on the ground and was attended to by trainers before being carted off the field.

A seventh round pick out of Montana in 2010, Mariani made the Pro Bowl as a return specialist during his rookie season. In 2011, he ranked seventh in the AFC with a 10.7 punt return average.
