The Seattle Storm on Monday signed veteran time leading scorer.

Thompson spent the previous three seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks and finished 2011 with 6,751 points.

With Thompson now in the mix, Seattle boasts the top three active players in career scoring. Katie Smith ranks second with 6,015 points and is followed by Lauren Jackson (5,915).

"I couldn't be more excited at the opportunity to coach Tina," said Storm head coach and general manager Brian Agler. "I've been coaching against her for more than a decade and I sure prefer having her on my side."

An eight-time All-Star during her 15-year WNBA career, Thompson averaged a career-low 9.9 points last year.

The Storm also re-signed forward/center Ewelina Kobryn.
