PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Timbers forward Bright Dike (DEE-kay) has had surgery to repair a ruptured right Achilles' tendon.
Dr. Jonathan Greenleaf, the team's director of medicine, operated Monday at Tigard, Ore.
The 24-year-old Dike is projected to be sidelined six-to-nine months, which means he will miss most if not all of the Timbers' first season in Major League Soccer. Dike was hurt during Friday's preseason game against the Ventura County Fusion.
