Tigers' Fister named AL Pitcher of the Month

New York, NY – Detroit Tigers pitcher Doug Fister was 0 in five appearances, including four starts.

Fister had a league-leading 0.53 ERA, 34 strikeouts and just three walks in 34.0 innings of work.

Since his debut with Detroit on August 3, Fister has gone 8-1 with a 1.79 ERA, 57 strikeouts, five walks and a .206 opponent batting average in 11 games (10 starts). The Tigers went 9-2 in those outings.

In 32 games (31 starts) for the Tigers and Mariners this season, Fister went 11-13 with a 2.83 ERA.
