NEW YORK (Reuters) - Atlanta Thrashers forward Ben Eager has been suspended for four games for attempting to injure Colby Armstrong of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the NHL said on Saturday.

Eager, who has three goals and seven assists this season, will forfeit $20,752 in salary.

His suspension will begin on Sunday when the Thrashers travel to Carolina to face the Hurricanes. He is eligible to return on January 20 against Tampa Bay.
