The former Argentina international was replaced at halftime of the loss and scans have confirmed a first or second-degree strain in his left thigh.
Samuel will miss Serie A matches with Novara and Bologna, while he faces a race to be fit for the first leg of Inter's Champions League round of 16 contest with Marseille.
The 33-year-old has started 16 league matches for the Nerazzurri this season as well as four of the club's six contests in the group stage of the Champions League.
