Texans name Pasqualoni, Devlin line coaches

Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Houston Texans named Paul Pasqualoni as defensive line coach and Mike Devlin as offensive line coach.

Pasqualoni spent the 2014 season as defensive line coach for the Chicago Bears and will enter his 40th year as a coach on the pro or college level. He was the head coach at Syracuse from 1991-2004, guiding the Orange to a record of 107-59-1 with nine bowl berths in 14 years, then struggled as head coach at Connecticut with a mark of 10-18 in two-plus seasons from 2011-13.

As an NFL assistant, he was the tight ends coach and linebackers coach for the Dallas Cowboys from 2005-07, then spent two years as defensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins before returning to Dallas as defensive coordinator and line coach for the 2010 campaign.

Devlin spent the past nine seasons with the New York Jets, first as tight ends coach from 2006-12 and then as offensive line coach from 2013-14. He played seven years in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills (1993-95) and Arizona Cardinals (1996-99), and also spent time as an assistant coach with the Cardinals from 2000-03.

The Texans also named Pat O'Hara as offensive assistant and Brian Bell as a strength and conditioning assistant, while Anthony Pleasant will now serve as a defensive assistant after spending the 2014 season as a strength and conditioning assistant.
