Tim Tebow and the Broncos backed into the playoffs Sunday.

Needing a win or a Raiders loss to clinch the AFC West, the Broncos relied on the latter, falling 7-3 to former teammate Kyle Orton and the Kansas City Chiefs minutes before Oakland was ousted by the Chargers.

The Broncos (8-8) will head into the postseason devoid of momentum after losing their final three games of the season.

The slide was preceded by a six-game win streak, which was largely fueled by the inspired play of Tebow. But he threw for just 60 yards Sunday and was intercepted near midfield in the game's waning seconds, ending any hope of a miracle comeback.

Orton, who was released by the Broncos in November, threw for 180 yards for the Chiefs (7-9).
