Swansea City revealed that Alan Tate could miss up to six months after the defender broke his leg in a golfing accident Sunday.

According to the Swansea website, the 28-year-old was a passenger in a golf cart and "caught his leg against a tree" after the cart lost control.

Tate was taken to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with a fractured tibia in his left leg.

"We're really gutted for him and he's obviously very disappointed," said Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers. "It was probably as low as I've heard him. He's a very upbeat character so for him to be injured will be difficult because I've never known him miss one day's training."
