Glendale, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Tom Brady and Russell Wilson each threw touchdown passes in the final minute of the second quarter as the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks went into halftime of Super Bowl XLIX tied at 14-14.
Brady briefly gave New England a 14-7 lead with a 22-yard strike to Rob Gronkowski with 31 seconds remaining in the half, but the Seahawks swiftly answered by marching 80 yards in just five plays and drawing back even on Wilson's 11-yard connection with Chris Matthews with just two seconds on the clock.
Making his record sixth Super Bowl start at quarterback, Brady shook off an early red-zone interception to throw for two touchdowns. His delivery to Gronkowski was his 11th in a Super Bowl, tying Joe Montana's record.
Brady made good on 20-of-27 passes for 177 yards over the first two quarters.
The Patriots grabbed a 7-0 edge on Brady's 11-yard touchdown toss to Brandon LaFell with 9:47 left in the second quarter, with the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks knotting the score on Marshawn Lynch's 3-yard run with 2:16 to go before halftime.
The Seahawks are attempting to become the first repeat champion since the Patriots won back-to-back titles in 2003 and 2004, while Wilson is bidding to be the only quarterback to win a Super Bowl in two of his first three seasons.
Brady will join Montana and Terry Bradshaw as the lone signal-callers to win the game four times with a victory.
