Luis Suarez produced a superb second- half goal to earn Liverpool a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Newcastle at Anfield on Sunday.

The Magpies took the lead just before halftime when Yohan Cabaye hit a rocket off the half-volley to beat goalkeeper Brad Jones from a tough angle.

It looked as Liverpool was heading for another disappointing result until a moment of brilliance from Suarez rescued the Reds in the 67th minute.

The Uruguayan latched on to a long ball played over the top and cushioned the delivery with a sublime touch off the chest. He took one touch to get around goalkeeper Tim Krul and one more to slot the ball into the empty net, bagging his seventh goal of the Premier League season.

Newcastle's Fabricio Coloccini was sent off six minutes from time for a rash challenge on Suarez, but Liverpool failed to make anything of the extra man as it was made to settle for its second successive draw.

Liverpool has pieced together a five-game unbeaten streak in league play to improve to 11 points on the season, three points shy of Newcastle.

QPR 1, Reading 1

London, England - QPR and Reading left Loftus Road on Sunday still searching for their first wins of the season as the two sides played to a 1-1 draw.

Kaspars Gorkss got visiting Reading off on the right foot by opening the scoring in the 16th minute, but Djibril Cisse helped QPR avoid an embarrassing home defeat by leveling the score in the 66th minute.

The two sides remain separated by a single point in the relegation zone as Reading improves to five points and QPR improves to four points.
