Milan, Italy – Andrea Stramaccioni described being coach of Inter Milan as a "dream come true" Tuesday.
The 36-year-old Stramaccioni was introduced as Inter Milan's third coach this season Tuesday. He replaced Claudio Ranieri, who was fired Monday after a 2-0 loss to Juventus left the club with one win in its last 10 Serie A games.
Gian Piero Gasperini started the season as Inter's coach, but lasted just five games. Ranieri initially enjoyed success after taking over at Inter, but after a poor run of form, was also fired.
Inter has already been eliminated from the Champions League and is in danger of failing to secure a top-three spot in Serie A and a return to the event next season.
Stramaccioni previously led Inter's youth team, but has never coached in Serie A. Inter is eighth and 10 points shy of a Champions League qualification spot.
"It's a dream, a dream come true," Stramaccioni said. "I do believe this is a very strong squad. I have faith in my players, in the club, and in myself."
