Four major league teams since 2000 have averaged at least one home run and one stolen base per game.
The Milwaukee Brewers are on pace to become the fifth.
The Brewers through Monday had 153 stolen bases and 156 home runs in 137 games this season, good for an average of 1.12 stolen bases and 1.14 home runs per game. They will become the first team since the 2009 Tampa Bay Rays to average at least one of each per game if they steal nine more bases and hit six more home runs this season.

The Brewers this season lead the majors in stolen bases by more than 30 more than the Cincinnati Reds. They rank 18th in home runs, well behind the Baltimore Orioles (215).
Milwaukee's 153 stolen bases ranked as the eighth-most in a season in franchise history. The Brewers' most prolific base-stealing season came in 1992, when they had 256. Pat Listach led the team with 54, Darryl Hamilton stole 41 bases and Paul Molitor stole 31. Eleven Brewers players stole at least 10 bases that season, during which Milwaukee went 92-70.
Milwaukee has averaged more than one stolen base a season five times, but none since that '92 season.

The Brewers have averaged more than one home run a game 18 times in franchise history, including 11 times in the past 17 years. Five of the Brewers 10 most prolific home run hitting seasons have come in the past 10 years, including a 231-homer season in 2007.

Major league teams have averaged more than one home run per game with much greater frequency than one stolen base per game over the past 17 seasons. The 30 major-league clubs have averaged at least one home run 271 times since 2000, whereas just eight clubs have averaged at least one stolen base per game over a full season.
All the more impressive that Milwaukee has been able to put together such a blend of speed and power.
