Spurs' Jackson placed on waivers

San Antonio, TX – The San Antonio Spurs placed forward Stephen Jackson on waivers on Friday.

Jackson, who has spent four seasons with the Spurs on two stints (2001-03, 2012-13), was averaging 6.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game this season.

The 13-year veteran has averaged 15.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.3 steals per contest in 849 career games.

With a week before the playoffs start, Jackson is now free to be picked up by any team but is not eligible on a playoff roster. He will be an unrestricted free agent when the season ends.
